SCHWEIZER-RENEKE – The Media Development & Diversity Agency (MDDA), led by the Deputy Minister in The Presidency, Ms Thembi Siweya, (MP), will unveil the brand-new state-of-the-art broadcast studios at BODUMEDI Community Radio 105.0 FM, on 8 July 2022, in Schweizer Reneke in the Mamusa Local Municipality in the North West province, South Africa.
BODUMEDI FM is a youth orientated community radio station that serves the community of Mamusa and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District municipalities. The station was formed by a group of young people who wanted to provide fresh news and information to the community through media and the internet. Through its programming, Bodumedi FM has opened the information and communication platforms in Mamusa local municipalities.
BODUMEDI FM broadcasts in Setswana, English and Afrikaans languages. Their pay-off line is “Re Gokaganya Bophirima”. Young people in Mamusa and surrounding areas are indeed using the advice they get from the community radio station’s shows to better their lives.
The community radio station has become a job creation outlet for young graduates born and bred within the community, it also helps young people who are interested in a media to learn the ropes at the Bodumedi FM with hopes of being recognised by the bigger mainstream broadcasting radio stations.
The new state-of-the-art studios will enhance Bodumedi Community Radio station to audio streaming and other 4IR opportunities, which will elevate the quality of broadcasting, opening more areas to the programmes and content that carries information about community activities and inspire young people to be the best at whatever career they choose to follow. The unveiling of State-of-the-Art Studios is scheduled as follows on Friday, 08 July 2022 at : 09h00-13h00 on 20 Buiten Street,Schweizer-Reneke.
