MAN FACES MURDER CHARGE AFTER WIFE’S DEATH
VRYBURG – Lorato Molapo made his first appearance at the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court today, facing a charge of murder following the death of his wife, Boitumelo.
Boitumelo’s lifeless body was discovered at her rented residence on the evening of 22 September 2022, at approximately 18:38.
After a detailed investigation, Molapo was arrested on Thursday, 19 December 2024, in Klerksdorp.
“The arrest followed a thorough investigation to ensure a positive link between the suspect and the crime,” said Captain Tselanyane. He emphasised that the lengthy investigation was necessary to secure all the required evidence before the arrest.
Molapo appeared in court on Friday, 20 December 2024, with his case being remanded until 27 December 2024 to allow time for him to obtain legal representation.
As the investigation continues, Cpt. Tselanyane confirmed that forensic report details remain undisclosed to protect the integrity of the case.
