Eleven members of the Tshwane Metro Police are due to appear at the Moretele Magistrate Court tomorrow, 11 August 2020.
The ten males and one female will appear on charges of corruption related to demanding and receiving gratification from motorists who were found to have violated the rules of the road. Motoring offenses are deemed to be serious as they lead to loss of lives due to un-roadworthy vehicles amongst other offenses.
The arrest of the eleven emanates from an ongoing investigation that started in 2018 following allegations of corruption levelled against the officers.
They were arrested on Friday, 07 August 2020 by the members of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), the Hawks.
