DEVELOPING STORY: HUHUDI – Police in Huhudi have opened a murder case following the discovery of the body of a 40-year-old woman inside a shack at Monamodi Village ( Phola Park) on Sunday, 1 February 2026.
According to information released by the South African Police Service (SAPS), the incident was reported to police on Tuesday morning, 3 February 2026, when a 24-year-old man handed himself over to authorities.
Police allege that the suspect and the victim were together on Saturday evening and into the early hours of Sunday morning. An argument reportedly broke out between the two, during which the suspect allegedly strangled the victim.
The woman was later found deceased inside the shack.
The suspect has since been arrested and is expected to appear before the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, on a charge of murder.
Police investigations are continuing.
